About This Quote

When Heidegger was asked what philosophical questions he would be most interested in asking his students, he replied that the most important question for him is "What is man?" He believed that the best way to answer this question is by analyzing the human condition. He did this by looking at human existence through the lens of human being because, ultimately, being human means being aware of the fact that one has a unique existence. It must also mean understanding why one has a particular existence.
